I am requesting an opportunity to obtain copies of public records that detail information pertaining to all unclaimed property examinations initiated by the State of Rhode Island, conducted by the State directly or through the usage of a third party contract audit firm, which were initiated or in the process of being conducted as the date of this letter. Please include the following information for each audit:
Name of Corporation
Primary Address of Corporation
Contract Audit Firm Assigned to Conduct Audit (where applicable)
Audit Initiation Date

Note that the documents have been redacted pursuant to Rhode Island General Laws § 38-2-2(4)(B) & (K) to protect notes, working papers, work products, and financial information that is of a privileged or confidential nature. Be advised that pursuant to Rhode Island General Laws § 38-2-3(h), the Office of the General Treasurer is not required to reorganize, consolidate, or compile data not maintained by the Office in the form requested.

You may also file a complaint with the Department of the Attorney General, 150 South Main Street, Providence, RI 02903 or the Rhode Island Superior Court of the county where the records are maintained.
