Dear Office of the General Treasurer,
This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act.
I request information on public pension plans in Rhode Island.
The following list describes information I want to obtain for each public pension plans in Rhode Island:
Time series: 2001 to most recent
Variables:
- Plan Full Name
- Dollar amount contributed to defined benefit plan
- Dollar amount contributed to defined contribution plan
- List of funds provided through defined contribution plan
- Dollar amount contributed to each fund in defined contribution plan
- List of all individual assets managed by the pension plan (with CUSIPs if possible) and how much is invested in each of the asset
- Name of the third party agent if the asset management is delegated to the third party
- Number of enrollees
- Total amount of benefits paid
I bolded number 6 because that is the most important information I am looking for. It isn’t usually disclosed in comprehensive annual reports.

Be advised that the documentation provided to you covers the time period from 2012 to present. Due to the voluminous nature of your request and the historical nature of the responsive records, we respectfully request an additional twenty (20) business days pursuant to Rhode Island General Laws (RIGL) § 38-2-3(e) to comply with the remainder of your request and provide responsive documentation from 2001-2011.
