We write in response to your May 15, 2019 request for information pursuant to the Rhode Island Access to Public Records Act (APRA).  Your specific request is noted below along with our corresponding response.

I am requesting a copy of the front and back of the checks that were reissued to replace the below referenced checks that cleared the bank.  The checks referenced below are the original checks but again, I am requesting information on the checks that were reissued to replace them because the originals were lost. 

Attached, please find the documents responsive to your request.  Kindly note that the documents have been slightly redacted pursuant to Rhode Island General Laws § 38-2-2(4)(A)(I)(b) to protect personal individually-identifiable information and § 38-2-2(4)(B) to protect financial information that is of a privileged or confidential nature.

In response to your request for a copy of the check that was reissued to [withheld], the Office of the General Treasurer does not have a document responsive.  Please see the Unclaimed Property webpage at https://findrimoney.com/ for information regarding those funds.

If you contend you have been denied access to public records, pursuant to R.I.G.L. § 38-2-8, you may appeal this decision to Amy L. Crane, General Counsel, 50 Service Avenue, 2nd Floor, Warwick, RI 02886.  You may also file a complaint with the Department of the Attorney General, 150 South Main Street, Providence, RI  02903 or the Rhode Island Superior Court of the county where the records are maintained.
